as usual, anything that nagisa furuya writes, i EAT THAT SHIT UP.... and this time, we are blessed with a childhood friends to lovers trope :D yuusei, who is a talented writer, and itsuki, who is an overall talented person. both of them became friends when they were in kindergarten and practically took on life together – that was until yuusei realised that he had developed romantic feelings for itsuki. considering that gay relationships is not really accepted in the japanese society, yuusei felt that he tainted his relationship with itsuki, especially after he gave itsuki a head pat to comfort the latter. he distanced himself, not realising that itsuki picked on yuusei's feelings. what i really love about this is that for the longest time, itsuki did not pressure yuusei to confess his feelings, nor did he confront yuusei about it. he just let yuusei take his time to accept his feelings, but only when he felt like yuusei's walls were too high up and he was at risk of losing his best friend, did he take action. and another thing i really loved about this was how yuusei never once talked bad about itsuki, even when people were trying to get yuusei to talk shit about itsuki's all-rounder status. he defended itsuki when he didn't know itsuki is listening, and that is proof that their friendship was a stronghold. BUT we need to take a moment and appreciate the two female characters in this series; they saw that the boys were in love with someone else, and decided to be brave to confess in order to get over their feelings. girls are often negatively portrayed in bl mangas, but i absolutely adore these two girls and i really hope they find their happy ending. and as usual, i just love the quiet love that nagisa furuya often portrays in her stories :D

this ones got that school setting like usual but like the emotions the characters feel are REALISTIC AF which i think is rlly cool and like for a 9 chapter bl the slowburn felt SO LONG?? thats when you know its goodd
