I love ghost themed love stories cause theres such a treasure trove for angst and horror and while this series isnt quite scary (the bloody mangled body of fah did catch me off guard on first view tho) or SUPER angstry (theres a a good smidge) it does a lot of things well.
Darin gives off a bunch of second hand embarassment, and her self esteem levels are so low to an almost comical degree (which is a tad relatable). I really liked her unbreaking determination that almost goes in contrast to her self esteem and her willingness in seeing this romance with this ghostly visage.
Mei really really grew on me. What can i say, i like it when a sociallly inept person who is prone to explosions of anger tries chanign themselves for the person they love. Her crush on Darin is almost child like and she's got a lethal face card fr. She's the main reason i wish it was poly because themeatically shes set up as the 2nd option, so if they did go poly it would be a win win for everyone, and there was a previous sort of connection that she had with fah's real body. Little did i know i was secretly rooting for incest oml. As of post-chapter 33, I am no longer on the poly train. (tbf i didnt htink it would ever come to fruition)
Fah is surprisingly understanding and has the most interesting angst here with the fact that she's hiding the fact that she knows of her accident and also that little section where she tries to turn down Darin's confession for her own sake. I thought after darin left her all alone she'd be a bit more angry or maybe realize how alone she is being in a world where onyl 1 person can see or talk to her, but in away a couple hours away from someone doesnt necissarily need to bring out such an extreme reaction. The bloody ghost in the ferris wheel was a ncie scene and for the most part i think fah and darin are super cute, so the giant looming car crash accident puts the readers nicely on edge for most the series.

Edit for chapter 35. The age gap and looming death is a nice tense wrinkle within the relationship, and poly. is BACK on the table because they arent even actually related. (still probably isnt happening) }

Oh my god is this actually doomed. is Fah actually dying bro that would crush me. I don't know why it was always in the back of my head that this coudl happen cause she's a ghost duh but like wow is it actually ognna go there.
