homegirl was pissing me off in the beginning bc why are you rejecting the help he’s offering?? idc how you were raised, the moment that man stepped up for his child you should have let him, regardless of your feelings bc it’s what a kid deserves. they at least deserve their parents putting in effort and she should have known this from her experience. i understand it was for the plot but her entire mindset made her a bit unlikable at the beginning. and to top it all off, her rejections and his constant prodding almost makes the ML seem creepy instead of romantic, idk ppl have to start thinking more about their plot before they just start writing bc as an author myself i can see how his approach seems weird, creepy, and suspicious. i came around at the end bc im a hoe for romance and family stories like this, but at the beginning i almost dnf’d.
