I’d love to read more bl w found family where people have more social support and community than the love interest. That’s not this.
You know what would be novel? Someone fosters a kid, helps the kid make a TON of healthy relationships, in the process as the kid matures they also help the guardian review their own self image and life direction. They both grow to better live life for themselves while also taking care of loved ones. They both end up with different styles of queer relationships and those are seen as valid.
