I stuck it out just because Alex is my type, but wow, what a shitty ending. There were so many points where they should've broken up, did, and then they got back together... much to my dismay. I can't get over the emo dude pulling a gun on his boyfriend just because of his own insecurities, and then threatening suicide later? Just insane. But maybe Alex is just as bad, considering he takes him back in the end anyway.

So far I like the art. Between chapter 1 and 2 it felt like we were missing a few pages with the way the pacing goes.

Ok so now that I read the whole thingy first thought is.. NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING AT ALL WITH HOW THE STORY STARTED. I really thought it was going to be a no plot, dicks all around sex. But let’s just say the tone really changed after the first volume and I really like it.
It’s a toxic type of story. Cole is straight up the red flag here while Alex is kind of a green flag. Most stories have the top be a total so this was kind of refreshing in that aspect.
Alex stayed a bit bland and a mystery in a way but Cole got some real character development.
With some of the elements introduced the plot ended up being a bit underdeveloped. The gun was really out of the blue and left the chat just as quickly. Like why did he have it in the first place? I can deduce it but still. There wasn’t enough of a buildup to it. Cole is pretty well written. He’s kind of annoying at times with the self sabotaging but he’s clearly in need of some serious long term therapy. His lack of confidence, his needy personality and constant need for validation were portrayed well.
Alex could have used some more character development. Unless the authors goal was to show us Alex purely from Cole’s perspective. Then that makes sense. I would still have liked to see him a little bit alive though. Purely because the story seems to be more realistic as opposed to many other bl stories that are super out there. In a way Alex almost didn’t feel like human.
While I do understand Cole in a fucked up way, Alex’s character seems a bit out of touch with the rest of the story. Literally Brad and Cole’s boss made more sense. It almost creates the impression that Alex is lowkey a psycho at times. I kind of relate to Cole’s unease throughout their relationship.
Pretty unhinged as a story but I like it
