its a decent read. The dynamic between the main leads was good, and im glad this wasnt yuri bait, but i feel like they got too close to each other wayy to quickly. i know kurokawa always admired nanaki, even if she was a dick towards her, but i wouldnt have minded a more slow burn between the two. Not even a slow burn, just maybe a chapter or two since literally one conversation between them just completely flips the whole dynamic. Like, literally, she dyes her hair and leaves all her old friends because of this one moment. aside from that i think its a pretty good read with a lot of good yuri moments. I will say I don't think this series excels at anything, but it does pretty well at most things. 7.5/10

this is not all bad there were a couple of emotional beats that i liked, but overall i wasn't really pleased with it. my issue w this manga comes mainly from the lack of time and space to let character development marinate.. like. everything just. happens. fujishiro just changes so quickly by having 1 (one) positive interaction with kurokawa, which ok, you can read as her falling in love immediately i guess. my problem is that her behavior fundamentally changes from one day to the next not just with kurokawa, she just stops being openly nasty to people altogether. kurokawa too, goes from always having deepset insecurities to immediatly understanding her behaviour towards fujishiro dehumanized her. and my god does this manga insists that there is some like. inherent value to beauty. i know we live in a misogynistic society blah blah blah but still that's just so ridiculous. especially bc kurokawa sees fujishiro as some confident goddess or whatever but to me her behavior reeks of insecurity. when you are satisfied with yourself, how you look and how you interact w the world, you don't go around insulting people for no reason lol i get that these are meant to be teen girls but let's not pretend the writing isn't full of them discussing their feelings maturely outta nowhere. which reminds me how much i disliked the dialogue. maybe it's a translation thing? idk but the dialogue feels so soo corny and unrealistic. the whole story does, while trying to behave as if it's grounded or whatever. last complain i have is the artstyle. i wouldn't care this much if this manga didn't put such a heavy emphasis on beauty and shit so it's a bit... ironic? that the characters all kinda look like each other. it's hard to believe fujishiro is this goddess and kurokawa is this frumpy girl when they look almost the same (cute by animanga standards) except for their eyes and hair.
