Volleyball
A very popular story that also has an anime (If you didn't already know)
Hinata wants to become the ace of Karasuno after seeing the tiny giant on TV when he was younger. But, due to the lack of exposure he had to the sport in middle school he is very rough around the edges.
Gymnastics
The MC trained for years before deciding to compete because competitions didn't appeal to him. It was a good story but the ending was pretty abrupt. They could've done a lot more with the series if they chose to continue it.
Soccer-ish
Hundreds of teen strikers are gathered to take part in Blue Lock an institution made to produce a single striker that will become the best in Japan
This manga isn't realistic soccer if that's what your hoping for it is much more thriller like. The authors other works are more horror/thriller based as well.
Soccer
Has an anime
Tsukushi meets a boy named Jin who invites him to play soccer, bringing him into the world of high school football.
I put off reading this for a while because I thought it would be childish. Now, I binged it in two days. I like the fact that it's funny, and not super unrealisitic (no crazy moves or special powers), it's just high school kids who range in talent. We also get to watch the Main character and others evolve as their skills develop, and dynamics change
Ballroom Dancing
I haven't seen it but there is an anime for this series
When Tatara was being bullied he was rescued by a man who brought him to a ballroom dancing studio. After being inspired by a girl dancer who attends his school and her partner, Tatara wants to become a dancer.
I liked this story because we get to see his confidence and skills grow. There is a lot of humour as well as drama found throughout the story too
Soccer
Ashito gets scouted to join a soccer team. Because it is his passion and he wants to pursue a career in the sport he trains hard and constantly puts himself in different situations to better his skills.
This is slightly more realistic than Blue Lock. It is normal soccer but they do give this kid unnatural skills (ex: the way they describe his eyesight)
Ballet
This manga started my ballet addiction and made me read a bunch of ballet manga and watch a lot of dancing clips.
The story follows Kanade on her journey to becoming a full fledged ballerina. It shows the hard work and dedication she has as she gives up a normal school life and childhood.
Note: So far the uploads will happen for a week straight and then go on a hiatus for a couple months so this is ongoing.
Capoeira & other martial arts
This is more action based and shows multiple types of martial arts throughout the series. The main character Icchi is very strong in mind and body. She will do whatever it takes to protect and save the people she cares about. The art for this series is also very cool
Dancing (Multiple styles)
A boy decides to join a dance club. I am not a dancer but I've seen others comment on how the dance in this isn't drawn accurate. That being said as a non-dancer I thought it was a fun read because the MC finds confidence in himself and a goal to strive for with the help of Wanda.
Also, the author includes what songs the characters dance to. Listen to them while you read for a more immersive experience
Ballet
Has a Kdrama
An elderly man decides he want's to pursue ballet and a ballet prodigy trains him
The elderly man's family doesn't accept him pursuing his passion and many people judge him. Despite that he is very serious and hard working.
The story is quite angsty, but the ending is satisfying/what it needs to be.
Haikyuu!!
