I read this specifically for 'Hotarubi no Mori E' I didn't really love the other stories
I watched the movie and read it to have my heartbroken twice
A girl is able to spend time with a spirit every summer. But they can never touch or he'll disappear
A suicidal women is brought in to speak to a death row inmate
I felt very sorry for both these characters and wished they could have lived happier lives
Both the manga and anime are amazing
While the title may sound weird this is a story about a boy who finds out his classmate had pancreatic cancer.
For me there was this build up of emotions which lead to a sudden catharsis where I balled my eyes out.
This story had me feeling super conflicted. I was crying about one character and then boom plot twist.
It opens with the MC at his friends funeral. It follows him and other characters through how they cope with her death and move on.
The terrors and aftermath of war written from the perspective of a young girl
I've read this one quite a few times now and the sadness I feel after reading it hasn't lessen
There is an anime for this (Episode 9 made me sob multiple times)
After the death of his boyfriend, Mafuyu inherits his guitar and asks Uenoyama to teach him how to play. Hearing Mafuyu sing Uenoyama recruits him to join his band.
The focus of this manga is growth. Characters learn how to move on, how to love, how to become better people etc
It also follows multiple relationships (The main couple and side couples)
The MC finds out she is a character in a comic. What makes it worse is she is a side character destined to die. Despite being unable to break away from the plot she decides to take fate into her own hands and fall in love
There is a K-drama based of of this called "Extraordinary You". Personally, I prefer the comic better because it's more logical to me in how they execute the plot
Hotarubi no Mori E
