Elder brother and his wife. Due to excessive drinking and depression, a wife was forced to abandon her husband to protect her unborn child, but hubby never signed the divorce papers. Just before the child turns seven, the parents are reunited, and must work through their own emotions of love, sorrow and remorse and how to proceed with their relationship as friends, lovers and parents.
Younger brother and his nanny. Sex friend drops twins on this guy and runs, forcing him to return home for help in their care. He meets the nanny his mother hired, initially adverse, but soon is grateful and interested. The nanny is also interested, but conflicted, because her would-be fiance is in a coma and his parents have issues, understandable, but still. It's a cute read though.
Very... I hate to say juvenile, but well, it kinda is. Man gets girlfriend pregnant, convinces her to adopt out, feels guilty for abandoning kid and wallows until he's a millionaire. Nanny for his niece and nephew end up entangled in one of his schemes and love blossoms after a heart to heart confession exchange. Later he finds his son, reunites with the nanny, professes undying and no sex until marriage. It's more cutesy-pie, kiddy oriented.
Since leaving her last job due to a would-be rapist (grabbing someone in an elevator and attempting to force them into submission is predatory, not just harassment), she slams a ring on her finger and pretends to be married. A bit of a dip for not thinking it through and using the fodder of Hollywood as a her example, but okay. Then using her friend's hubby as date!? (Hire an escort, ya ninny.) Cutesy mild with only a panel of violence to make it interesting.
Fucking = sport. Neglect = abuse. Two young'uns had some happy times and married for the sex. Yeah, that's a no no Bunny Foo Foo. No communication, she miscarries and vanishes, he doesn't chase and throws money at the unknown problem, and so love becomes hate and misunderstanding. They reunite a few years later, work together, discover some sparks, then drama of confession, then parting, then a last spurt of drama and, at last, happy happy joy joy. Cutesy-pie.
Casino on sanctioned land is fishy to the Fed, she's sent to find the stink. She and CEO have a roll in the hay due to strong attraction, but when she catches the bad guy, there's a misunderstanding and she gets in trouble when it all comes to light. She is cleared of any wrongdoing, he smooths by proposing. It is kinda cute in a way, though there are some...issues. At least he's not a rapist and she's not a complete moron.
A nurse who isn't as perfect as she looks and a humanitarian doctor who fiddles with the pharmaceuticals. He is as instantly attracted as she, but while he's the handsome philanthropist, she's got a secret branded on her body. No real drama, just personal demons and a want for understanding. Sweet.
Jilted at the alter by the younger brother, the elder brother swoops in to claim her. This is not just fast, it's greased lightening. It's a cute read, don't get me wrong, BUT, where I can see how he's in love with her (though the first sight thing is iffy), she changes gears a bit too quickly for any sense of realism. There is no real down time from altar with one man to true love with the next.
Single father tangled in grief meets a feisty waitress with a troubled past (it's always the way). They contract date for the holidays and end up scared of the emotion they kindle in one another. Eventually, they communicate with words, as the physical stuff, great as it is, just muddies the waters, and they all work it out in time for New Year.
Asshole politician (aren't they all) seeks to streamline his city, causing people to lose their businesses, and basically pulling the 'tough titty' card when they protest. Well, he ends up getting coshed, loses his memory and going to work at a restaurant he's evicting under a set of siblings who are buying time. He's a bit complacent in the people around him, she's nice to the point of naive, the brother's a hoot, but it all works out in the end.
