3.5/5! sue me but I absolutely ADORE this work and the genius behind it. each scene made me squeal like a middle-schooler, and the butterflies that erupted in my stomach while reading this was IMMENSE. Takeru-sensei is a master at crafting such sappy, lovely works; romance is truly alive! I definitely recommend checking out the other works underneath their belt because each and every one is absolutely phenomenal and a good read for the soul.
4/5! this is an especially good read if you're looking for light fluff and a touch of sorrow. there are undertones of this sadness you can find within a few panels, and you peel back a few layers and you discover what this particular sadness is. takeru-sensei is a genius, and I very much enjoy whatever work she puts forward because of how fresh and wonderful they are.
5/5! what an absolute delight it is to read this. it's funny, it's earnest, it's deep, it's light around the edges--a complete ace of DJ! It succeeds in capturing the exact time and feel of the actual anime, and it does not shy around angsty aspects as well. everyone was in-character and the dialogues and flow of panels seemed very smooth and natural. this has to be my favorite Gintama DJ of all time!
3.5/5! the aspect I liked most about this work was how atmospheric it was. the layout, the setting really have rise to this almost aesthetical feel to the manga, and the artwork was superb as well. a lot of thought has been given to this, especially with the symbolism of the shooting star and the hope it brings, giving rise to the courage behind Hijikata's actions. it truly bends to the myths and gives us a pleasant feel after reading this.
3/5! okay I know this has nothing to put forth plot wise, and nothing to contribute to society BUT oh my god the dynamic is insane. I do not trust a single person that says there's no real chemistry between these two because it's not their ship. when the mangaka makes a DJ of this pair HERSELF that means the chemistry and the dynamic between these two are OFF THE CHARTS. as always, tanaka-sensei's art is amazing!
4.5/5! another one of takeru-sensei's work but can you even be surprised? they're the god of hijigin and this list is their shrine. every single one of their works are super but this- this is just astronomical! I love the title, it's so simple yet thought provoking and it speaks layers to the story at hand. Hijikata and gintoki have this special relationship where no words need to be said in order for them to understand each other and that, to me, is bloody beautiful!
