Not really an otome game except you can apparently romance the older characters?? As of chapter 21 FL still thinks this is a game world and she can do what she likes, and it doesn't seem like the romance part is on her radar, but it's that option that puts it on this list.
What a cool way to give a villainess a chance at redemption—watch the person who transmigrated into your body live out your life as a normal person and then return the favour for all her good deeds once you swap back by honouring her efforts. Even if those actions now have a bit of a villainess flair. It does kind of throw the otome thing to the wind, but it's fine since WHY DO ALL MANGA VILLAINESS STORIES HAVE THE SAME BASIC PLOT.
Bad end isn't the absolute worst imaginable, but she deserves better and I'm glad she gets the chance to seek out any of the other options because how tf did she end up with the worst of them,
God, imagine being stuck as a maid in a reverse harem with leads who are literal criminals and mother-in-laws from hell.
Does this even count? I'm putting it under game category with romance option. She spends so much goddamn time explaining the game mechanics that I can't leave it out.
It's actually an action/adventure mystery game with a Victorian-ish steampunk flair…that somehow has male leads. The setting is pretty fresh and MC is actually good at the game in question. I dig that our ML is the scientist nerd type, it's a great opposites attract/perfect tag-team approach that does actually suit the game setting.
Actually based on a novel but the set-up is so game-like that I'm putting it here anyway. Status screens and item shops and upgrades really make you forget it's a novel. It's also very much a harem in which she can choose any of the leads, something implied even at the start. Hell even the epilogue side stories serve as hypothetical endings should she have fallen for any of the other MLs.
The game-like mechanic is too much for me not to add it. The objective is to find the real ML within a set time frame. She can level up her stats and her relationship level with all of the candidates.
So what if she transmigrates into a horror game, if there is a ML to be captured, then it still counts in my book. It also makes zero sense but that's fine. FL being literally taken over by the game is a really interesting mechanic.
