One day, high-school student Hanamoto is called out by a guy named Furuya, who's in a different class. At first he thinks that Furuya might be trying to confess to him, but it turns out that he just "wants to be friends." Hanamoto is nonplussed -- and perhaps a bit disappointed -- but agrees, and soon finds himself spending more and more time together with Furuya.
But what, really, is this innocent-looking boy's reason for brazenly seeking out Hanamoto's acquaintance?
