One day, high-school student Hanamoto is called out by a guy named Furuya, who's in a different class. At first he thinks that Furuya might be trying to confess to him, but it turns out that he just "wants to be friends." Hanamoto is nonplussed -- and perhaps a bit disappointed -- but agrees, and soon finds himself spending more and more time together with Furuya.
But what, really, is this innocent-looking boy's reason for brazenly seeking out Hanamoto's acquaintance?
Kurokawa desperately wants his college kendo team to win the team competition. Every day, he pesters Kazuha, his biggest rival from high school, to join the team.
