The story of a lesbian couple that wishes to start a family together. Both sweet and educational at the same time.
A gay man finds out that his son is also gay. A really sweet and heartwarming story about family and acceptance.
A really tragic story of a transmale character. One of the few manga I know of with a trans man as the main character, please tell me if you know of any more.
Don't expect 100% correct representation, the manga was written in 1978.
A gay man breaks it of with his lover when he enters an arranged marriage. A really sad story, mostly because it depicts the reality for many people. (Manwha, read from left to right)
A high school boy finds out that one of his classmates is gay. A sweet and soothing story about friendship.
The main character is a transwoman, struggling with dysphoria.
About a single father that get visited by his deceased brother's husband.
Ichiko and her girlfriend decide that it's time to come out to their respective families, which leads to Ichiko finding out something about her parents that she never would have guessed.
Ryousuke’s nearing 30 and ends up going to his friend’s gay bachelor party to find a life partner.
A gay man trying to get over an old heart break when he meets a high school student that gives his life some new hope.
Portrays how love isn't necessarily something grand and explosive but something that can grow over time. Beautiful and realistic.

Hello! I was thinking about making a list on biographical mangas but good thing you already made this! these are some mangas based on real life written from lgbt+ people.

Thank you so much for making this list! Also, you should add a manga called "Until I meet my husband" to it, the manga is actually based on a real person.
Thank you so much for this list! It’s tough to find actual healthy representations that don’t involve rape, large age gaps, or characters that look like children - especially for wlw/sapphic stories!
Hi this is an excellent list, have you read "kono koi ni wa nai" its a story about a trans man who struggles with body dysphoria and severe depression. This is super sad. Ty
"Kono koi ni mirai wa nai"
Trans woman
Im so sorry for the mistakes, and its already included in this list. This makes me so happy.
Hii. I happened to see this list because of a certain manga. If its okay for you I just thought that Neon Sign Amber would really fit in heree. I hope it does. Oh and by the way,I love this list! Never thought it existed until now. Thanks!ヾ(☆▽☆)
Over 100 followers?! Wow! Keep the suggestions coming guys, I really appreciate it!
Hi, I don’t know if you still update this lost, but I know a manga with a transguy as one of the main characters. It’s not centered around being trans, but I think it shows trans struggles pretty well (although I read this a while ago so I may not remember everything lol). It’s called Yuureitou.
Hi! Yes, I do still update this list. Thank you for the recommendation! I was actually planning on reading that manga very soon, now I'll definitely bump it up on my tbr :)
Cool, and sorry for so many messages lol I don't know why it sent them three times

Nice list. Been a fan of IS for quite a long time but could never get into the JDrama because of bad reviews. Anyhoo, here's a rec: http://www.mangago.me/read-manga/honey_honey/
Thank you! The Jdrama is not the best, but I remember that I still enjoyed it :) Thanks for the rec, added to the list!
