Noboru has been having doubts lately, what if he was attracted to guys? His friend encourages him to court one of their classmates, the pretty Yagi who is rumoured to be gay. The two start a sex friends relationship but Noboru's feelings quickly grow into love. The lack of communication and painful memories from the past get in the way... There is a lingering feeling about this one, a kind of warm melancholy. Muno sensei's character are always relatable, flawed and endearing.
Usually not a big fan of one shots because they often feel underdevelopped and rushed. Sensei however manages to put so much feelings and details in just a few panels that it put me trough an emotional roller coaster. Sometimes it is super cute and sometimes it's super heavy (hello chapters 3 and 5). Third chapter just killed my heart. Very realistic, everyone is flawed and it is somehow unique despite the common plot. I like that some parts are left unresolved.
Mio is a highschooler seeking shelter from the pouring rain. He meets Yugi and it's like lightstruck, he's captivated. Mio starts hanging out with this older and aloof guy. Yugi hides his feelings behind his cold demeanors and is secretly having an affair with his sempai who doesn't seem to love him back.
A lot of tears, rain, and angst. I like how sensei depicts the feeling of being with someone and yet feeling utterly lonely.
