Messed up shit in just 28 pages.
I can't even begin to explain the depth and poetry of Nakamura Asumiko's works. This manga is definitely one of her best. The bond between these two men, silent but overflowing with emotions (and sexual tension). It's a manga that kind of disturbs you, hits you hard and makes you feel emotional. Warning: Incest. The incest actually disturbed me a lot.
Oh god...remembering this manga makes my heart hurt a lot. I loved it. This is my favorite work from Nakamura Asumiko. Read as J, a transvestite, tries to explore his sexuality in a gorgeous western 1950's setting where homosexuality and gender fluidity was seriously taboo. It was made to be a very (very) polarizing read, touching on the actual struggles of gays in a society that does not welcome them. Not a lot of mangas tackle this subject or can make its readers sympathize with it.
Idk if anyone still doesn't know Love Prism because it seems everyone who's into rape and bdsm seems to recommend this. It's totally far from a masterpiece but I put this here because it totally traumatized me (and introduced me to urethra insertions omg). But when I read it again, I thought it was totally hot. It's a tragic manga. But what's more tragic is that the author died before she could have given us a happy ending.
This is a good story about self-harm and psychological trauma. I liked the bond between two broken people trying to fixing themselves through each other. The dynamic of their relationship was great, and for people looking for a manga with dark themes (without the rape), this is a great heartwarming piece.
This manga still has a few chapters but from what I've read...it's totally twisted. It's also from Pysche Delico...who draws the hottest sex scenes ever. Whether this becomes a masterpiece or not...let's both see, shall we?
The protagonist is this young prostitute who has been sexually molested at a young age, had sex with old fat men, drugged and gang-raped. Although quite disturbing at some scenes, it's a brilliantly written, romantic story about a very lovely pairing. Although short, the story unfolded beautifully and went into a direction people would find unexpected.
Plus...the one-shot at the end is recommended for all BDSM enthusiasts <3
This still haunts me up to this day. It's so beautifully drawn and written, it sends shivers down my spine. It's in a post-world war Germany setting with a son who wanted to return the pain he suffered from his step-father tenfold. If you read this, pay attention to how poetic the butterflies were used in the story (and the cover).
Breathtaking. Poetic. Brilliant. Powerful. Yuu Watase at her best. Every chapter felt like poetry to me. Everything was so stylistically written and the 1920's Japanese noir feel was gorgeous. The way they handled rape in this story is great. The manga does not at all condone it and the uke does not at all suffer from Stockholm Syndrome that most ukes do. It's a passionate, dark and emotional story with characters who were both intelligent and deep. Just amazing.
BDSM in it's highest and truest form. The whole manga revolves around chains, whips and leather. Literally. It's violent, intense and explicit. At times, very brutal and pushes a lot of boundaries. There are moments where I wanted to turn back but there is strangely something that draws me back into it. Amidst all the brutality, the story is entrenched with so much emotion, sadness and sentimentality. The guys might look like girls...but do bear with it, it's a great read.
