Well there's always something special about the first yaoi manga that got you into yaoi, right? Well this is mine. It's a manga that was truly artistic and explored the psychological depths of its characters. If you're new to Nakamura Asumiko, this manga would be a great start.
THIS is the first original yaoi manga to be ever published. This has truly become the foundation of the yaoi genre, setting the tone and standard for the coming yaoi works later on. If you're wondering how the yaoi genre contain many philosophical and poetic works with dark themes and characters, it should be because of this. Back in the day where such homoerotic themes were very taboo, it was a very controversial work. It's old and too philosophical to read but read it to understand yaoi more.
This is one of the pioneering works of one of the founders of the shounen-ai genre. This is probably the darkest manga I've ever read, and had the most psychological depth than any BL I've ever encountered. This portrays the horrors of rape and domestic violence. It explores what it feels like to be driven to despair, have your last shred of rationality slip away, be lost in emptiness, and be haunted by trauma. It's a psychological examination of despair, family, and ultimately, love.
