mc is cheeky, witty, a really competent martial artist and teacher, not annoyingly op, and handsome. what makes this so refreshing is the focus on the secondary chars. they're fleshed out, diverse in personality and background, and their dynamic with other chars including mc is natural, funny, and well, refreshing. the plot unfolds naturally, each event has traces of the major antagonist's influence, allowing us and him to uncover more as we follow his journey to become the ideal teacher.
it's sometimes lighthearted and funny, but also has heavy topics like loss/ trauma/abuse/etc. the charas are fleshed out, and flawed, and the portrayals of their emotional baggage are realistic. many times, the main leads could've progressed their friendship(?) further but author was like "nope! eunyung's gonna push him away again!". so yes, they hate each other, but care about each other in their own way. amazing storytelling with interesting arcs and chara development.
the art is amazing, the lore and mystery of the people summoning them seem to be interesting (tho it seems similar to world after the fall). but that's pretty much the only noteworthy aspect here. the mc and fl are kinda bland, six months in, and their chara hadnt change. (not to mention, they're kinda slow). plot progression is slow and also not exactly exciting or interesting. also there seem to be romance, but srsly tho their rapport is so boring.
ADORABLE slice-of-life tales of two tiger children living with a human couple in the mountains where they meet other monsters. super wholesome, heartwarming, and funny. a bit of romance in s2 for a side couple.
the beginning, mc, and art are similar to "Return of the Disaster-class hero". the superhuman sports thing is pretty interesting. mc, with his cheat, knows how to use the skills of players to their maximum potential; he knows how to use the terrain of the backdrop to his advantage; so yeah, he has the skills to back up the praise. action scenes are flashy. the minor charas are generally likable, but not really fleshed out. there are two potential love interests, but mc isnt looking for love rn.
15 years ago, mc was the top thug. now he lives uneventfully until his younger brother, the only ray of light in his life, is killed. now years after his prime and with a limp leg, he is on a mission to take revenge on the culprits, to create a last bang before he withdraws from the thug life, or dies. there's no other plotline, or greater overarching conflict. probably be finished in ~60 chapters. shading, angle shots, and visuals are great, like a cinematic piece.
jesus this is so good. it's chilling, dark, eerie, horrifying, suspenseful, yet it's not unrealistically so. the storytelling is amazing with the shifting perspectives; so many plot twists, hidden elements, and as u realize along the way, unreliable narrations of the events. thanks to the detective team's efforts, the survivors eventually reveal their truths, allowing them to figure out the gaps in the story and solve the truth of the horrifying experience. 'chasing tails', truly an apt title.
magical girls are actually bullies, mc being a victim of a particular bitchy one. mc's sis dies so she seeks to enact revenge on all of them, also learning about the magical girls' pasts and the revelator. relatively complex with good plot twists and interesting charas who are more or less selfish. storytelling's good, with some introspection about human nature and their ideas of 'justice'
Marvel/DC inspired. has a bit of sci-fi, ie quantum physics. mc is cunning and villainous. the cast is likable and their banter is enjoyable. plot developments are interesting. balanced plot of action/sci-fi and lighthearted/funny moments. but the storytelling and dialogue need some polishing, but it's smth most manhuas suffer from. the past experiences of mc that led to the battle of the first ch are gradually revealed as the plot progress. def one of the better manhuas out there. no romance.
