by no means is it great, but it has good art, interesting plot developments, and engaging storytelling. it was overall pretty nuanced... that is, until the ending :(. also gives insight into those sasaeng fans. the mc, a popular idol, ends up killing a sasaeng fan who jumped in front of his car. luckily a man nearby helps him, but then blackmails him into becoming his manager. no romance in the end. pretty much psychological drama...with the majority of the cast of charas having mental issues
dominantly male cast. lighthearted and funny, with good amounts of emotional/heartwarming moments. in the glimpses of his past, we can see he was a good-natured man with genuine close relationships. his goal currently is to reach his power level of his original body
mc is a human-like spirit king. he's a likable mc. the setting is generic, but it's fleshed out. the side charas are decently fleshed out and are generally likable, and the banter is fun and engaging. plot developments are interesting, with mc+team uncovering more revelations and learning more about the social injustice of the impoverished as they journey, and while the plot is pretty layered, the storytelling makes it easy to follow. there is romance for some side charas. btw, THIS IS NOT BL
interesting lore and developments. if the lore was explored more, and the art and dialogue were more polished, this could've been great. however this is the author's first work, so it's already pretty good. in a desperate situation, fmc received a special 'miracle' that allows her to kill demons...at the cost of the power burning away her life. decent charas and villains. it was going pretty well until the ending, as it was abrupt and left several plot thread
the mc is a villainous, unserious, happy-go-lucky sociopath who pursues joy and fun in his otherwise meaningless life. he's a piece of trash. the art style and chara designs are cute. the antagonist is the typical righteous kind protagonist who's likable. their respective groups are fleshed out- they entangle with one another and go thru chara development (more or less). it gets more interesting as the story develops, showing more of how evil the mc is. worldbuilding is decent
a story about a violin prodigy who recognizes his love for the violin extends beyond just a hobby. a story about other realistic side charas with their own stories and their growth in this particular competition. well-written story and good storytelling. great visuals.
there's a bit of romance but it becomes so irrelevant in the overarching plot. starts off as a school-life romance with the fmc aiming to get into a P.E. college, and mc hiding his superpowers. then it shifts to action+drama with the parents as the protagonists. who turn out to be badass ex-govt agents. execution was perfect. storytelling's amazing, super engaging. heartwarming and touching. the art is, well, the artist is skilled, but the art style is a matter of preference.
an entertaining mix of sci-fi, school life, drama, romance, and a bit of mystery. fl and family immigrate to earth from their mining colony in space, the distance costing them 30 years. a very well-written story with enjoyable charas. slow-burn romance. the guy on the cover is actually a side chara. the fl and ml are so likable. fl can taste people's personality, or essence, as flavors. in season 1, the main plotline was about the ml's identity. should read this on webtoon.
read this for the lols, unexpectedly found a gem with life lessons. "unrealistically realistic" encapsulates the story. the charas and plot developments are both realistic yet have Shounen-esque vibes. mc is a pretentious loser, which narrative makes very clear while also shutting him down whenever he's being cringe. he's very relatable, with great chara development. other charas are funny and their banter is entertaining.
Anecdotes of different people who experience different manners of death and meet god in purgatory(?) before they enter the portal to their next life. Rather philosophical with life lessons embedded in most stories
