A very toxic historical romance BL with a sweet & happy ending. Positive: believable depiction of how in the past people behaved, were treated & mistreated based on their social status + how this might influence their approach to love, relationships, romance, sex. BUT: outstretched soap-opera type of toxic melodrama; + simping uke; + plotholes (wtf happened to the princess). As a toxic melodrama BL which presents annoying smut & über-masculine flexing as a sign of genuine love, it was okayish.
Don't be trying hard to make this BL make sense. It's just a toxic soap opera, which is so bad that it's "good." Absurd twists, stupid plot, annoying characters, and the MCs end up happily together with 3 kids. 3 stars because I really enjoyed it due to its sheer soap opera quality.
Do I need to say more? :D An apex of toxic Korean BLs.

Uke's past life was a nightmare due to seme's twisted approach to love (obession, control, ownership) & his vulnerable status as a slave. His present life is no different - he's financially/socially vulnerable & abused by the seme, a chaebol. But there's def character development & progress, & the rushed, bittersweet, optimistic ending suggests this time they may have a happy ending. he story had potential, it gives some food for thought, has psychological depth, but the execution failed
