it's not so much a love story as a coming-of-age story about youth with complex and relatable themes and personal growth. with lgbtq elements. it's beautiful and bittersweet.
it's power rangers with a twist: the Power Rangers had already defeated the invaders and the invasions are just an act to sustain the popularity of the Rangers. one lone foot soldier defies this corrupt system, and comes down to earth to murder all of the rangers and make his dream of world domination come true. the story explores this premise with surprising nuance, introducing several charas humanized with their own concept of justice and beliefs and values.
gambling, with an mc who see thru tricks/lies, hence called the lie eater
fairly interesting and suspenseful until the ending. i think the husband's motivation should be more fleshed out to give the story more depth. it just falls flat
sheds light on the casualties of war, and the victims' families. heavily bittersweet. the husband, on the verge of death, and wife, reminiscence their memories, both heartwarming and tragic. the idyllic moments shattered when war arrived at their doorsteps...
mc deals with the aftermath of her best friend's abrupt suicide. also depicts her emotional turmoil over it. simple plot, but emotionally inducing with how realistic and raw it is
i get why readers ship Sherlock and Moriarty... this is such a compelling retelling of Conan Doyle's Sherlock holms from Moriarty's side of the story as an anti-hero, and a sympathetic charismatic one at that. it also explores his dynamics and relationships with his family and comrades, including Holms, and twists his otherwise evil actions in a patriotic light. also love the incorporation of various historical figures from famous stories as well.
