SS Danpyunseon anthology - It could 've been a decent noir-gangster smut drama, but it's very short & the focus is on mindless smut. I wanna learn more about the characters' (espec the uke's) background & how the story'd end eventually (tragic? realistic? happy?). My rating is 5: best KBL art I've seen, love gangster-prosecutor stories, no BS uwu explanation absolving the seme of his violence, realistic depiction of SA (it's not just about obsession, it's also about control/power).
ONE OF MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE SHORT SMUTTY KBLS
Bought it on Amazon. Not a BL manga -- it's a seinen manga focusing on LGBT+ issues, created by a gay BL mangaka. The kaiju state is a metaphor for being gay/queer/ etc. Very good. If you are non-cis/het, you will 100% recognize the situations, feelings, difficulties, etc the gay protagonist goes through.
A heartwarming slice-of-life romance KBL. What makes this story outstanding is the couple's unusual dynamic: the seme's a cute crybaby puppy with a heart of gold & the uke's decisive & mature enough to recognize/handle possible conflicts. Moreover, he's patient & gentle with the (traumatized) seme. Big plus: it proves that consent is SEXY. The art is good.
Very mild bromance /// shounen-ai in a noir detective mystery story. The art is beautiful, the story is melancholic, and you have to read it several times to fully grasp what's going on -- the story jumps bw the present and past and there's no clear line bw what's present and what's flashback.
My opinion is the same as in the case of 'In Good Faith'. This could 've been noir spy action KBL with great potential, but it's very short & the focus is on smut. This could be a basis for a longer story. The art is very good, and the depiction of SA isn't nice, it's obviously shown that's always about obsession, control & power dynamics.
It's a super short & smutty KBL with a very crude & straightforward sense of humour, but I found it very entertaining for several reasons: 1) super sexy manly but not beefy uke 2) uke's a combination of a fierce chihuahua & an acutally frightening action/seinen character 3) the ending -- they realized they match each others' freak and happily married.
