10/10 i'm sobbing on the floor. excellent depiction of how childhood trauma manifests in your life + all the messiness of dealing with generational trauma. we! are! breaking! the! cycle! both aerie and joy were mature, reasonable, and felt so much like real people. love how sibling relationships were so complicated and yet tender. carrie and her bf are sooooo, and roger!! love them <3. also so much sympathy and compassion towards mothers, and yet criticism too! i really loved this.
like fashion euphoria. everyone has their own neruoses and we don't get shit explained like ever. i so dearly want to see this continued, but it's on like an infinite hiatus, so we'll see. love the causal queer relationships, absolutely insane women, and sopping wet men. i hope they manipulate each other forever and that the fashion line crashes and burns <3.
love following a girlie through her life. chihiro is both amazingly complex and very simple in that complexity and is capable of so much depth it astounds me. love how her sex worker background is treated seriously and frivolously at the same time! it really highlighted the fact that it was just a job, and yet it impacted her greatly. also her friend rules. i wish we had the prequel to this translated, but w/e, i'll live on her scraps happily.
idk if this seinen/ josei or not but truly one of the best bls currently releasing. the SA is like ??? but besides that it's so good. most bls treat the university stuff as just a background setting, but this one really focuses in on the reality of grad student life + what it's like in undergrad. the comedy's on point, their relationship never feels boring despite how stable it's become, and their sex life is tasteful yet hilarious.
this one is just fun! i think the stalker x assassin trope is fun as hell, and i love a good case fic. their dynamic is on point, the art style is unique yet readable, and the fanservice is extremely tailored towards me. i hope they fuck nasty on screen and murder people.
this author is so very good at portraying students/ teenagers! the gag timing is hilarious and makes me laugh every time without feeling like it's getting repetitive. the teacher + student relationships were very well done, bc they're close without making it really romantic or familial? hoshi-san's wife and kids getting abruptly dropped in was lowkey hilarious, and i love the weird and meandering lives of teachers and students. hope kobayashi steps on more rakes and nakamura gets babygirled <3.
love love love bad pharmacy!!!! mc in this one sucks so bad and it is so delightful to me. love a man who has a bad personality and is so unaware abt it. his relationship w his friend seems interesting. this is mostly on here bc i love bad pharmacy and wish to see where they're going with it.
ok usually don't stick bl here, but in love with this dynamic. freak x freak realness with so much chemistry. usually bl protags have all the chem of a wet paper bag but this is going somewhere!!! it's got me thinking abt the relationships that celebs have with the media, and also how it affects every aspect of their life. mc is repressing that shit so hard, and love how the composition reflects that. ml is studying him like a bug <3. also mc's mom can do whatever she wants with me.
this isn't a romance, but? like the mcs aren't in a relationship, but you can feel their chem in every interaction. love a power couple as well, esp since they're very in line with the other's morals. mc has a very interesting mindset, very nonchalant and chill, but willing to get his hands dirty. fl is extremely powerful, very old and naive at the same time, but knows what she wants and how to get it. very good dynamic, and the worldbuilding remains captivating.
ok not seinen/josei, but i like it enough so i'm going to include. ahh insane story, everyone has so much depth and complexity, and it's so realistic w/ it's depiction of kpop fandoms. mc's backstory realistically affects him and there's not the mary sue syndrome/ face slapping that you get with a lot of entertainment manhwas. won't include spoilers in this (bc the spoilers are a part of what makes it a fav), but this one is like a little treat on a bad day!
