OK this is a widely beloved manhwa that I think has a boring asf main story IM SORRY I really wanted to like it more especially because TERRA made banger Player <3 Player congratulations art but I canttt.
I like the side couple a lot more. That's like all I have to say on them I'm just thoroughly engaged in their dynamic and they are fun.
there's like 3 side couples I think not counting the implied yuri side couple that wasn't canonized because I think the editors were like "Bbong CHILL it's enough fucking side couples!!!".
I have a soft spot for the first side couple and the last side couple that was introduced idk if this comic holds up i havent read it in a sec
Side couple gets exactly 5 seconds of the ridiculously long runtime and I lapped up and savored all 5 of those seconds.
Main couple gets so boring from all the sex scenes interrupting what little plot there is so yes the side couple is fucking better.
right right forgot Mingwa is also a side couple connoisseur. Honestly I don't detest BJ Alex like I did when it was coming out it's too iconic to hate. The side couple in this was good and lowkey the best thing about the series. and then the side story hit and you realized Mingwa is incapable of writing a seme without making you hate him.
I keep stalling on finishing this but it's really solid all around from what I read? the side couple kind of reminds me of what Chanwoo and MD are to the BJ Alex main couple because it's a "gay best friend character gets a love interest" situation. IDK that's an oddly specific trope I really like. Yes I know they're all gay but you know what I mean like a stereotypical GBF.
Amazing main and side couples in my humble opinion. Normally I think it's bad for the side couple to overtake the main couple but this is "Someone Else's BL Manhwa" it's purposefully unconventional and is self-aware of what it's doing. It subverts BL expectations and discusses grooming in a semi nuanced way. It's a pretty grounded take on young love I really recommend it.
I have really conflicted feelings about this comic. when it's good it's amazing and relatable to being gay but when it's bad it's pretty tedious. The main relationship goes in circles that I don't think are necessary to tell the complex relationship the author wants to tell. For the first time ever I genuinely have no strong feelings on the side couple. It's fine. It's def worth the read if you like enemies to lovers and BL charas with internalized homophobia
