You'll have to survive the main couple's wholesomeness and cuteness first. The side couple's story takes everyone by surprise with its complexity and depressing atmosphere.
Enemies to (if ever) lovers. Toxic. Political, there's a lot of old Korean terminology and historical context that people get lost in. Both protagonists are extremely smart and manipulative.

Insignificant man plays his cards so well he becomes his enemies' biggest nightmare and enters a relationship with a serial killer. Not as toxic as you would imagine, weirdly enough. But it is an odd dynamic.
Alongside the insane sexual tension between the protagonists there's an investigation going on, one that's really interesting and that got resolved too quickly for my taste, but it was entertaining nonetheless. I know it's based on the first book of a very long series so it leaves you with some questions that might be answered in the rest of the books.
There is some romance sprinkled in a very politically-driven story. For the most part it's a murder investigation and you will eat it up. The characters are so great, the red herrings are just chef's kiss. An extremely sad read though, be prepared.
A member of a rebellion becomes the son of a duke, befriends the Crown Prince to take the Empire down from the inside. It's political at its core, but it does tend to focus more on the protagonists and less on the world.
A crime investigation, FBI, secret identities. The main plot gets sidelined at some point, but you might still enjoy it for the nice chemistry the MCs have, despite the fast pacing.
Post-apocalyptic, SF, animal characteristics, mutations, humanity lives in captivity.

Modern, horror game setting, escaping it premise, days resetting, different timelines. There's nothing super complex, but you do have to pay attention and remember details to fully grasp the main plot.
