The manhwa is all over the place, and even though the title says that it’s a veterinary clinic, it’s a clinic for werehumans whom the FMC doesn’t even seem to treat like humans. Within the first 30 chapters, the FMC is already engaged to the crown prince, has powers that no one else has, has met and signed a deal with a demon, and has cured the plague. Things are moving far too quickly, leaving many unanswered questions and a lot of confusion.
This manhwa feels rushed for absolutely no reason; in chapter 32 the main characters are already married, by chapter 48 they resolve all their misunderstandings and reveal each other’s secrets to one another, and then the rest feels like a meaningless story meant to make the manhwa longer. Not only that, but they focus on things that don’t matter and gloss over the critical things as if they're meaningless.
I felt like the FMC was being forced to like the situation by the author even though it was clear that she wasn’t comfortable with it. She switches up far too quickly, especially when it comes to thinking of Cedric like he’s a child one second, the next she’s blushing because she touched his chest, and then she’s back to treating him like a child. The emperor's obsession feels incredibly suffocating, to the point where I wonder why the FMC is even entertaining him.
The only good thing that I can say about this manhwa is that the original female lead is adorable, and I'd rate this higher if she were shown more often. The FMC is idiotic, and the male lead acts like a drama queen and never apologizes for how he treats the FMC. Things happen too quickly, and yet at the same time nothing actually happens despite how fast the story progresses.
One day Philomel finds and reads a book that describes how she’s not the real daughter of the emperor and that she will get executed for pretending to be his daughter. At first she thinks nothing of it, but once the events from the book start actually happening, Philomel realizes that it’s not just a weird book but a book of prophecies. She considers becoming the perfect daughter to survive, but after hearing her father’s true thoughts about her, she decides to run away.
I don't know why, but I just can't read past chapter 18. I've picked up this manhwa three times, and all three times I dropped it on chapter 18. I like the concept, but the male lead irritates me, as well as his servant and the fact that the female lead felt guilty immediately when it came to the male lead despite being a scammer all her life.
This was a terribly executed manhwa with a great concept. This could have been great, but once you get to the middle of the manhwa, everything starts dragging, and the characters seem like the dumbest people to have ever existed. The princess doesn’t get any punishment, nor does she show any remorse for her actions: not for tormenting Tiarosetti, for attempting to use magic to kill her, for attempting to strangle her, and for killing her brother. Instead, she becomes the empress.
The FL is incredibly dumb, so much so that I’m convinced that she could get punched in the face, and if someone told her that it was just a way to greet each other, she’d believe it. The ML isn’t attractive in any way either; his personality sucks, and his looks are basic. Hell, he even physically hurt the FL twice in the first eight chapters, and she brushed it off as if it were nothing important. Tsundere ML? Forget about it; he’s not even a tsundere.
It’s a somewhat cute story, but it grows boring the more you read it, and it makes no sense that the female lead doesn’t realize that literally everyone in her family can hear her thoughts. Especially if we consider the fact that she rarely speaks and everyone responds to her thoughts, yet she’s made to be this dumb and idiotic character who doesn’t realize that she’s having back-and-forth conversations with people without her actually speaking.
The relationship between Carlotian and Ariadeline is really superficial, and I really don’t feel any excitement over the two of them getting together. There’s literally no reason for Carlotian to love Ariadeline, as the only thing that happened between them is the fact that they shared a bed. They should have chosen any other man as the ML, as these two just had no chemistry; they were single, and then they were suddenly together.
