Stories with an illness or/ and death themes

This list wasn't made with the intention of making myself or others cry, because stories with such themes should be looked at as inspirational ones. Both illness and death are part of our reality so we should embrace all that which makes us weak with an open heart.
Stories with such themes may help us find courage in facing our own ordeals, in becoming kinder and more appreciating of the people who surround us. Hence, if we put ourselves in other people's shoes we might become more caring, more loving ... this is at least my own "philosophical" view. As a consequence, I'll try my best to find plots which fit these criteria.

Fleeting love! Why is it that some people notice their feelings only when it is too late? For me, this manga is about living love without realizing it then reminiscing about it and regretting undone things in the past. There is a death theme which lurks in the background but in spite of that this is still one of the most subtle and deep moving stories you could ever read if you prepare your heart first, that is!

Meet Min Su, the ultimate playboy. One day on a rainy day he meets a girl, naturally he had to get her. But she didn't want a relationship with him. When she left, she dropped her cell phone which Min Su found. After finally tracking her down, he confess

It is a sweet bitter romance story but I couldn't bring myself to read it till the end but now I think I will, because being born and dying are both inexorable realities. The one can't exist without the other.
