this is another old classic that has like a shitton of problematic tropes lmao (including A LOT of fucking between adults and minors like no one's fucking businesss) that I have fond memories of. Shimizu Yuki makes these expansive universes (same with Ze) that really get to you. Tho now that I think of it... maybe my favorite pairing of hers is in Ze? I forgot which one was my fave in this one.
The ONLY GOOD Omegaverse manga jk jk but I mean damn omegaverse with consent like who knew that was possible. I'm pretty sure omegaverse was made by people who wanted 0 repercussions stories about men raping each other. Also this manga has a decent way of approaching "destined" partners as a theme. I find it irritating because of how common this topic is in Asian fiction and I think it's a terribly toxic fantasy, but here it's used nicely as a point of conflict
ugh I love tops with a sadistic streak in them so I could never help myself with this pairing. Their dynamic is just really fun and the mangaka has created great chemistry between them! It's a manga I've re-read many many times and would buy in a heartbeat! That being said it's def veeery old school and if this came out now it'd be super cancelled hahahahahaha

Uuuh back on subject I also like the dynamic Scarlet Beriko creates in her manga with her more manly bottoms and pretty tops, like it's just so *chef's kiss*
Kunieda Saika is a woman after my own heart and this is her most wholesome and best work imo (alongside the sequel underneath). What can I even say about these two!! I just love it! I love the whole thing to bits!!!!! TT___TT I love Kento the gorilla and Akira the seductive weirdo!!! I even love the homophobic grandpa!!!! I have no regrets!!!!
also can we get an amen for a manga that admits that the seme isn't straight even if he dated women till the uke?? Like what up with all them "straight" tops that are just reeeeeally into dick and men's butts?? Bisexuality is a thing that exists y'all
very beautiful art alongside a very heart-warming story. I think in general I have a deep love for stories of people who have a regretful past they have to face. This is a great example of that, in that this isn't executed super dramatically, but slowly and with sensitivity. Ugh <3
Probably one of my favorite romantic comedies. I just love awkward couples made up of losers like this one. It's just the perfect thing to gobble up on a sunny afternoon.
I have a deep appreciation for stories of relationships that have already been a thing for a while. It's like a Yasujiro Ozu movie or something. This couple has very good chemistry, and it shows how people carry within them their decisions, memories and regrets their whole life that they are shaped by. Very wholesome at the end of it as well <3
I like k-webtoons a lot, but I don't have a lot of favorites among them. I feel like webtoon platforms encourage the same type of stories most of the time and are a lot less bold or experimental. But this story is a great example of a BL webtoon that sells a lot and stays very vibrant as a story! Very sweet and probably one of the most wholesome webtoon releases in a while! <33
