this is one of my old favorites tbh. It's just too good to be true. I love Motoni Modoru's works, she always manages to make very complex characters that feel very complete as people. Also I love the uke telling the seme that he can't just plow away and that sex with him hurts lol. Sometimes I'm like is it safe that 17 year olds are reading yaoi THEY GET SO MUCH TERRIBLE SEX ED MISCONCEPTIONS THIS ISN'T HOW IT WORKS AT ALL!!!!
damn I have such a weakness for dysfunctional messy characters with one hell of a chemistry together like I can't stress this enough I-
yeah so I love this more than the main story Pornographer (which is in the future of this one) because once again angsty stories with a lot of YEARNING and messy ass people who fuck each other up is my all time mood
ugh this is such a good and well rounded story it's astonishing!!
Every character is complex and multifaceted and the plot is really well constructed, really satisfying! I also like how clearly the author knows her art history and incorporates art theory into the story, I'm so done with mangaka just winging it when writing about fields they know nothing about. Also I just have a thing for doormat uke's because relatable and a good seme redemption arc.
now if you have really really read this one then you prob know about all that BL subtext lmao ~ really good horror anthology series with a weird a f overarching plot that ends very unexpectedly. Wish I could get my hands on a copy >_>
i like crazy shit ok leave me alone
ugh I freaking hate my life why am I single!!!!! *sobs* I want a cute girlfriend to share my hobbies with too!!! *cries while running amok towards an oblivion gate*
gotta say i was super hesitant about this since I heard "gender bender" and "sexual assault" in the same sentence and police sirens went off in my brain, but this short is quite great actually and although it's not necessarily realistic, it's for sure a nuanced - tho rushed - discussion of teenage dreams, facing your fears, trauma and gender confusion. Wish it was longer but the mangaka passed away. Released in english by Seven Seas who also did Doukyuusei and other
ugh another great one, honestly I owe it all to this person's list: home/mangalist/466654/?filter=&page=1
their list is basically full of great stories of wholesomeness and half of them I either liked, loved or already had on this list, or they will be on this list lol.
Night on the galactic railroad always comes up as inspiration for many works of art and fiction I like. I guess I really should read it ha. I should make a list just with the stories with references to that book
this is one of the first yaoi that grabbed me by the kokoro <3
Ogura Muku is a storytelling master tbh. The age gap is a little bit... *sweats*, and a buncha stuff is cheesy and very 2000's yaoi era-ey but it's not a total yikes moment. The narrative and the main characters make the rest of the problematic shit forgivable AND THAT SAYS A LOT
