The hilarious, well-paced, sweet story of how an incredibly lucky guy fell for the god of calamity who started haunting him. Also, Yato is best boi and the jizo statue is the real MVP.

"Seriously, you're the best partner for a gangster like me."

"I won't make the mistakes I did again! I swear I'll make you feel good this time! So--Let's screw! Wait--I mean, let's try dating again!" (*clapping slowly* That was smooth, Noshiro)

Kudos to Noshiro's fruitful efforts, persistance and determination to win Ashitaka back after the years he spent looking for him because of a nasty misunderstanding.

"Wow, I really don't think we'd get along. That was my first impression of him."

I love the relaxing and nonchalant or should I say "deadpan" tone of this author. The dialogues between the laid-back Narasaki & the delinquent Terashima and the way they deal with each other and their feelings in their own ways are incredibly entertaining and also delightfully awkward at times.

My favourite moment:

Hajime: "Don't lick any weird spots!"
Tatsuo: "Weird you say...It's licked here normally."
Hajime: "But then...You're definitely gonna hear my heartbeat. That time when you kissed me, I thought my heart couldn't beat any faster than that, yet it's beating much faster than it did then...I...I...What if I die..."*blushes hard*
Tatsuo: *beet red*!!!

Me: *implodes*

Putting aside all the overwhelming cuteness and fluffiness, this manga has one precious moment that always melts my heart. Endo used to be in love with a male classmate that eventually ridiculed him for these feelings, but when Yamai smiled and thought to himself: "You really are...a fool...doing something so unnecessary..." after being told by that ex-classmate: "Wait till he looks at you in that way! Then you will know how I feel!!"

"When I was found I had a folded paper crane with me, and written on it was
the number 653. I don't really know if the number means anything, but I'm sure it meant something to someone who really loved me."

The first volume: beautiful art, but basically nothing "wow" happens.
The second volume: definitely worth going through the boredom of the first volume because the feels will hit you hard, especially the last lines in the extra that brought me to tears.

"From the first time I set my eyes upon you, I had already decided to conquer you."

Two reasons for loving this:
1.The concept - the great showdown between the evil hero and the dorky maou-sama
2.This must have the hottest kisses I've ever seen in a manga
