Even when you're a fully adult reader, you get giggly like a teenager reading this.
It was cute. Romance progressed rapidly and steadily like a lovebug you caught during your teens.
Drama and angst are present.
Tackles family problems, friendship, suicide, trauma, forgiveness, acceptance.
It was an emotional ride for characters in high school setting.
Good thing it ended in a happy note for all of them.
You'd keep holding your breath reading this manhwa, at least that happened to me.
It's just that it gave off an uncertain vibe that you'd feel so insecure with the plot,
the friendship going wrong, the romance and misunderstanding.
But like most stories go, it ended happily ever after.
This shoulda been titled Onion. Season 1 finale chapter got me sobbing & weeping like I've been peeling a sack of onions. Story started from Shavonne's pov, then with Lewellyn's thoughts & back to Shavonne's again circling round & round like onion. I thought at first the story was boring but when the plot thickens, the story unravels layer by layer like an onion a lot of twists, bumps, turns & pain. The art is so expressive, every panel makes you imagine they're moving. The emotions to the story, to each character, to their dialogs were depicted on every scene. It's painful. Melancholy. Bittersweet. You can't actually call theirs a happy ending because there are still so many nuisance that they haven't settled out. But one things for certain, their love will weather out the tumultuous storm that comes their way until spring returns to color their love.
The only isekai story I read, thus far, that actually returned to her original world and was so desperate and true to her goal until the very end. Her emotions and monologs were so realistic, painful but resolute. Happy ending
I usually have a lot to comment after reading but this one got me speechless. Not overly dramatic nor plain. Both lead characters, their dialogs/monologs, the drama, plot arcs and their smooth transitioning, and of course the art -- they all are superb! Story was almost a depiction of reality. And both leads are so adorable and loveable (especially the seme--he's got a dick but never a dick). It's so good that I gulped it down in one go. Hold on, gimme a sec to digest it all.
Serious Joke
