Yoneda Kou. My Queen.
Here is a very touching story like Yoneda Kou can write them. Sad, tragic, down to earth, but also funny at times, and very sweet in the end.
Here's a man who was betrayed by his previous lover (and boss), who falls in love again (his new boss) but soon comes to fear that he might not give his new lover the life he deserves, such as a family and kids, being a gay man...
I love this one. At first glance it just looks like one of those typical high school love story, but it has a very special feeling to it, as we see those two popular high school boys who hate each other at first, discover their feelings as well as a new vision of their sexuality.
This is awesome. Touching and funny characters, nice plot(s), subtle development... I dig it !
Funny. Pure. Amazing.
Ah... this one is amazing. Super funny, but also at times really raw when it comes to the characters and how they deal with their homosexual relationships.
This story is getting better and smarter by every new chapter. How is that even possible ?
This is my favorite Nekota Yonezou. It's beautiful. But sad. But really beautiful.
Too often I think Nekota Yonezou can be kind of borderline about the way she draws homosexuality in her works, and also the way she can build her stories (I mean, I love Hidoku Shinaide now, but seriously, that first rape scene and Maya's denial ? Someone ?) but Michiru Heya is different. And so good at that.
This is one of my forever-ever favorites. I love Kyuugou so much, and this story even more.
Some might say it is more about incest than just homosexuality, but I think it is a tragic story about forbidden love, decisions and regrets in general. It's heart breaking, even more so when you think it's dropped/on hold. But please, do read it. And even if at the end some of the questions asked at the beginning aren't fully answered, the last chapter can still be interpreted as the end.
Hidaka Shoko is one of my favorite authors, a like a lot of her other works, Hatsukoi No Atosaki is kind of bitter sweet, even the happy ending. One is gay and totally out, the other broke up with the first years ago because he just couldn't imagine that a relationship between two men could go anywhere in this day and age... Until he meets him again after a failed mariage.
Even though he owns a love hotel (that should actually open his mind...) the young protagonist of this story is extremely prejudiced against homosexuals, especially this one porn movies director, openly gay, who he pretty much sees as the big bad wolf, ready to eat his own little brother, as he sees him getting too intimate with the movie director. While he fakes being himself gay to get that monstruous creature away from his little brother, he realizes how wrong he was...
