This one really made me anxious. I probably was stress eating through the whole read. Just joking. (Maybe)
Anyway, one of the many great works by Yamamoto Kotetsuko in collaboration with Sakiya Haruhi about two friends, one openly gay and the other who, years after rejecting the first one in high school, starts to realize how the fact that he ignored his friend's feelings and sexuality has impacted their friendship and their respective lives.
Isn't Ogeretsu Tanaka awesome ?
This definitely hits the nail on the head.
Okay, I have been reading BL for about 6 months now, I've read hundred of them until now, and I always tried to avoid this author, her style just didn't inspire me at first glance.
I WAS WRONG. I REGRET.
Don't forget to read the sequels of this one.
This is actually partly autobiographical.
It took me a while to read this because I'm not such a fan of hard yaoi, but this one really bears a message. And it's really cool.
Aki Aoi in three words : Purity. Tenderness. Love.
In this one also, it is confusing to accept our own sexuality, and the way the author draws this young love is just too sweet not to make the list.
Such a beautiful read !
I really like the glimpse we can get at Chihiro's struggling highschool life as he tries to hide his homosexuality.
I really love this one. Even more so since handicap is concerned, which is pretty rare. It is really important in the building of the relationship, but the most important part is that even before questioning if gay, or not gay, the acceptance of the handicap pretty much did all the work that was left to get those two together. Or... almost.
I'm pretty sure everyone knows Rihito Takarai by now, but this piece really has its spot in this list. It's a beautiful and tragic story of a love doomed by conventions and traditions.
A sexuality kept secret, a dead lover, an overwhelming feeling of loneliness, and a new face who reminds him of an old one he loved...
Yes it's hard to be gay in a society that worships the norm and listens to the loudest voice out there.

Haha thanks ! I had doubts at times and thought of changing it. I'm relieved I'm not the only one laughing at my lame jokes.
