reads like a novel~ i like the translation of cultures and fantasy into the world
i looooove the paneling in this manga -- the atmosphere is so nice and the pacing of their relationship is adorable
the ending will always HIT
award-winning - yakuza house husband x graphic designer wife
it deals with a lot of heavy themes and doesn't prioritize action to "look cool" or be mainstream -- there's a lesson i appreciate its trying to teach
4/5 -- [ Based on a famous essay by a Japanese gay activist, this manga tells the story of his life leading from his childhood up to his marriage to his husband ]
"If I was a 'normal boy,' they wouldn't talk about if I was a normal boy."
I love the pictures and anecdotes included at the end of the chapters -- really cements the story into real life and makes it all the more touching
lesmis will forever be relevant--s the premise states--and will forever be powerful. i love the imagery and the depth the art conveys, totally makes up for the lack of verbosity the novel has
second-hand embarrassment to the max
4.5/5 -- this mangaka always has such poignant works -- a lot of showing not telling -- the train metaphor is great, from both the mc and boss' povs -- the drama is muted but the emotions are sorrowful, melancholy, and uplifting -- lovely and relatable
