BL... but it’s not fully BL?

This is another interesting case of a seinen-yaoi.
To be fair, this manga itself doesn’t have BL... it’s the sequel that puts it on this list.
I REALLY like the premise of this series—it has a seinen prequel but it finishes with a yaoi sequel. Being able to read about the plot alone in a more seinen setting creates a great setup for the world-building. With that done, moving onto the growing romance in the sequel is a genius idea. Seeing two genres intertwine like this makes it a true gem~

Silver Diamond is another great example of the shounen ai + shoujo + action formula. Its a formula that’s hard to disappoint with its stories so far :)

I think I’m really cheating this list by just saying how everything fits just because it technically has a shoujo genre added on too. But even if I’m cheating right now, it’s impossible for me not to recommend this. It’s a really beautiful, plot-driven worked with time-travel. It’s a sad look back on history and a truly great work that I wish to be able to read again.
A really great read and I don’t know what else to say other than I highly recommend to read it immediately. I am sobbing; 5/5

After rereading it, I just remembered how unique this take was on BL. It’s an anthology of one shots from some prominent authors in the BL field and the overall concept for this takes a completely new perspective on the genre...
—It’s BL told from the perspective of female characters!

As an anthology, each story is completely different so there are all sorts of different tags and genres, but all add a new portrayal of females in BL. My personal favorites were chapters 5, 7, and 8 :)

I am here once again to squeeze out every shoujo + shounen ai combination on this site. Perhaps I’m cheating this list but this combination really does bring great stories.
Hard to go wrong with eye-candy vampires and there’s an action-packed plot revolving around the secrets & history of the MCs.
Unlike the other shoujo/shounen ai on this list, there are slightly steamier scenes (but no R18 or explicit romance).

Five star rating—
A seinen manga adaptation of an essay based on the real experiences of Nanasaki Ryosuke, a gay activist. The manga details the realistic thoughts and struggles in being gay, making each narration emotionally moving. I also want to appreciate the translation notes which covers the essay more in-depth as well :)

Overall— a beautiful work that gives a realistic representation to being gay with its true experiences and great storytelling

But this webtoon made me so emotional?? Like I'm tearing up from the smallest things at every single page. I love Jun and Rin so much and I'll protect them with everything I have :')

but i’m brushing off this list that hasn’t been touched in 2 years JUST for this because it’s so stunning in every way

a HORROR bl that’s essentially a seinen mixed with subtle shounen-ai. i really think this is peak it’s just so good in terms of art and a super unique plot

it rlly has me on the edge of my seat and im in love. 10/10 recommend!
