ch 5 -- good art, worldbuilding, and plot but WHY DOES HE HAVE TO BE 13 (??!?) even if its historical fantasy w/a king's harem/slave trope like... pls....... i can't read this in good conscience if there's gonna be serious romance and not just exposing politics/letting mc go in the end

I love the pictures and anecdotes included at the end of the chapters -- really cements the story into real life and makes it all the more touching
3.5/5 -- heavy plot, could have benefitted from more chapters for a better execution -- a lot of mixed (mostly negative) reviews of this -- i think while it does have a lot of problematic themes, they're generally addressed within the manga (or further in the novel) as problematic -- the author stated he wrote this for the human experience and not for social commentary so maybe thats why its not as "sensitive" or "politically correct" as people demand but i think it was still fairly successful
4/5 -- asdfghjkl cute shit. a true idiot couple. beautiful.
3.5/5 -- bromance --> romance (considering the shounen ai tag but i'd be fine even if they just stay friends) -- ch 2 -- cooking + cohabitation? they've already got the foundations of a good marriage goin xD -- plus friends that don't care how big of a bite you take when sharing food are ride or die no cap
