Growing old in no way indicates you've conquered your insecurities and regrets, and shouldn't limit one's ability to pursue new passions (i.e., love). Hanamonogatari follows an elderly widow who rediscovers her interest in makeup, all while she develops romantic attraction towards a female store owner. It's refreshing to see a story about elder sapphics falling in love and expressing intimacy—a rarity amongst media today.

Despite the fast paced story and rushed character introductions, I can appreciate the relationship growth and dynamics of both of the couples in this manhwa. I enjoyed how the writing took a short look at the toxic side of lesbian relationships, and how said relationships can manifest into hesitancy and doubt in future relations. I admired the fact that this wasn't just another wholesome gl comprised of generalizations. Wlw couples can be flawed and (extremely) dramatic.

I’ve fallen in love with Qiu Tong and Sun Jing. Their interactions with one another are just too cute. It really reflects the feelings of a youthful romance. Despite not having a very well defined plot, Tamen De Gushi still makes for an engaging manhua. It’s silly, funny, and at times, cringey, but what high school relationship isn’t that way lol.

Bad Thinking Diary is boring. The manhwa relies too heavily on its art whilst neglecting the writing of its characters. The plot is unintriguing and lacking. Conflict and misunderstandings are dragged out for longer than they should, while the characters are one-dimensional and flat. They have no capacity for surprise and will respond to any situation that occurs in a predictable and consistent manner. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities for this manhwa.

The fact that the plot may be thin and contrived pales before how cute Kanda and Satomi's relationship is. This is such an enjoyable, comfy read with lots of situational comedy and wholesome moments between the two girls. The misunderstandings used in this manga are more charming than annoying. It's a source of mild conflict that doesn't overstay its welcome. Overall, this manga is just a very simple yet sweet romance that I wholeheartedly love.

Jiwon and Myeongin—two girls of contrasting personalities breaking the guidelines they’ve established. A romance story filled of miscommunication, misunderstandings and drama. Was this frustrating to read? Yes. Was this an entertaining read? Also yes. Relationship Guidelines put me through an array of emotions which, to me, made the manhwa something far from boring.

The writing in this manhwa wasn't very good. There were several unnecessary and inconclusive storylines, along with a bombardment of characters that served no defining purpose towards the progression of the plot. Nonetheless, I relished in the relationship between the Eunbyul and Sena. Watching their affection for one another grow through countless tribulations felt satisfying (and entertaining).

Aya and Mitsuki are reminiscent of Nana and Hachi, and I love it. They are two characters who appear to be opposites, only for the story to reveal that they share a common interest in music (and so much more). The connection they form through their love for bands like Radiohead, Nirvana, and Guns n’ Roses fills me with nostalgia. With this manga originally being a twitter comic strip, the pacing is quick, ensuring that there's never a dull moment between the two.

update: I'm struggling to read this ngl. It's not like it's particularly bad or anything, but it feels so cliché. I mean they're really cute and the art is pretty but I keep getting bored and dropping it. I'll give this another shot cause I feel like I'm not doing this manhwa justice.
update (2): someone pleasee give me the motivation to keep reading
update (3): Ima give it ANOTHER shot this weekend
update (4): bun ts, bout to just leave this as my review
Hate Me begins with a misunderstanding and ends with Ji Un and Yoosun in a relationship as they advance through each stage of their lives (i.e., high school, college, workplace). Had this manhwa been more fleshed out, I definitely would've enjoyed it more. I appreciated the characterizations and I found the story to be adequately engaging, but with only 5 chapters, Hate Me's narrative is rendered extremely constrained and lacking.
