In a lot of yaoi that has an abusive and obsessive seme, they make it seem like all these guys needed was the power of “love” to get over being abusive pieces of shit. Like sure he did an insane amount of crazy and abusive things, even physically hurt the Joe, but the guy had a hard life and sure he’s a psychopath but only for special Joe when special uke pleads or fights back does psychopath uke back down or make space etc etc. in reality this behaviour is horrific and scary and the use would 100% be dead or maimed. And that’s kind of what s1 showed right? It was like a horror manga, there was no romanticisation of what was going on, there was no, “oh the psycho is just a little traumatised by his past, he just needs special uke to calm down, and oh seem is still psychotic towards everyone else but special uke” it was just horrific and it seemed to end in the uke actually being, as is what would happen. I think that was the more interesting story.

Love and leashes (Sensual M) or Strictly Confidential (Confidentiality)????? I’m talking characterisation and story wise, Confidentiality has well written characters with realistic flaws etc, very 3 dimensional

Yesss, smut books and novels, bodice rippers, historical romance, dark romance, etc etc, I’m mainly talking about smutty manga, there haven’t been a lot until recently and they’re all really bad. As it has been the last couple of years, any work that was spicy was for men (hentai, harem, etc) and they’re all also pretty bad but it was misogynistic slim pickings for the women (why do they think women want to read that shit). Still really bad but more bad options I guess?
I actually do want to see her kiss him for exactly the same reason she wants to kiss him, which is to see him weak and vulnerable and to wipe that smug face off of him. Also I still hate the stepmother.
