When I think of BL outside of normal tropes this one comes first, not only due to the fact that it's so out of the box but also offers a very interesting alternative to what you usually see in male pairings.

This is a horror story, a torture-porn, this is absolute excruciating pain and whoever decided to pen this had brought me, my cows and my lineage great pain. On serious note, It did have some really good quiet moments that I appreciated a lot.

Okay so, This was cute! Very cute, very action driven and for it's time of release was really breaking grounds for being one of the few who are breaking out of the mold. I do think that it sorta takes you outta the fantasy a little if you read or watch spy thrillers a lot so you get a little of that.. "Huh.. weird but okay" feeling.
However, Red Candy is low-key my comfort food. It's that one movie you play or junk food you eat.

Excellent writing, nuanced characters, not necessarily 'BL' but more character driven narrative that ends with a complex take on homoerotic connections between two long-time friends. Would give it a 4 but I do get the complaints that it ended jarringly like yes, there's sign but honestly wish there was more to work, not gonna spoil anything go into it blind.

MC does feel incredibly out of touch sometimes no like.. seriously out of touch.. it can get a little 'stereotype-ey' so if you're uncomfortable with that but this is cute, Luca just plays along with Makoto's assumptions atp
