Can i ask u something? Are u asian? Do u know that here is VERY normal for people with huge age gap to be in love and marry since the age of teenagers. If u wanna compare your western morals to us asian please think again. And why are u so mad its fictional are not adult enough to know whats real and whats fiction? Clearly you didn't read my comment where I clarified that my post is meant to educate all those confused about the age of consent in Japan and all those who're uncomfortable about the age gap. The only who's mad is you who's gate-keeping this manga and gets pissed whenever there's any criticism.
And yes, I am Asian, Indian in fact. And just because something is normalised anywhere doesn't automatically make it correct. Child marriages were normalised back in the day and they're clearly not correct. And don't generalise all of Asia, it's a continent, not a country so views and laws and culture differs everywhere. Plus, don't be pissed because the Western world got it right when they decided to illegalise child marriage. Second, do you think that just because something is fictional it's not open to criticism? People review literature, art, politics all the time. Anything in existence that's available to a public audience is open to be criticised. Manga counts as literature, so this is open to criticism. And I don't know if you've noticed, but it's a common theme in manga and anime to have teacher-student romances; that's called child grooming and child abuse due to pedophilia and power-imbalance, so yes, I will provide information for all those confused by the age of consent laws. Besides, fiction is always rooted in reality. Perhaps YOU, aren't mature enough to understand that. By the way, no I'm not underage and it's not illegal for me to read this.

Maybe so, but having sexual relationship with a minor still isn't something morally correct. Plus, like I've stated in my original comment, my comment is meant to clear up the confusion in the comment section about what the age of consent is in Japan, not talk about whether the manga is acceptable or not.
Let it be known that the Penal Code of Japan calls sex with anyone under the age of 13 as statutory rape. This does not mean that 13+ is the age of consent.
Every prefecture and municipality have laws in place protecting minors from “unethical relationships” and sexual activity with adults. Depending on the prefecture, it’s illegal to have a sexual relationship with a minor below the age of 16 to 18.
Depending on the prefecture, what Tetsuya did with Tora when they were in their 20s and 16 resp. can be called illegal and rape. At the time the manga was released, the age of adulthood in Japan was likely 20 and has now been lowered to 18. Anyone under that age is a child. So, even if because of prefecture law, having sex with a 16 y/o wasn't a crime for a 25 y/o adult, he still had sex with a child/non-adult.
Finally, Civil Codes are another set of prefectural and municipality laws. They state that civil agreements are legal only between two parties that are at least 20 years-old. This means anyone 20 and older must seek parental consent before entering a relationship or marriage with someone that is at least 19 years-old.
End thoughts, Tetsuya and Tora's first time has a very real chance of being illegal and rape (if anyone knows what prefecture the manga is set in lemme know cuz I'm too lazy to check) and is 100% sex with a minor. So, I dunno why their initial ages couldn't have been 15&18 and then gone to 16&19 for sex, and 25&28 for final. Because let's be real; who else would be attracted to a 16 y.o if they themselves were in their early 20s except a pedo?
