i've been coming across lots of cross-dressing manga lately, and i've noticed that a lot of the times the person crossdressing describes something extremely similar to gender dysphoria, but it's never really addressed and it's just assumed, "oh yea figures bc that guys gay" or "he just likes feminine things nothing wrong with that."
don't get me wrong, there are times it is just a gay man dressing in drag or someone who likes very cute feminine things, but a lot of the times it's this person who constantly says they wish they were a girl and because of that they dress femininely and they hate being a man and they're manly body. i've been living in japan since 10th grade, so i was aware that a lot of japanese people don't really understand sexuality and gender, but don't you think a lot of the times these people in the manga who say these things are experiencing gender dysphoria or something similar more than just being gay or feminine? or am i just really uneducated rn lol
