She either thought she could be happy with a man, or she could turn herself straight, hence why the distance. when the husband turned into a girl, she probably felt like, "this can work out", but also thought, "hes still a man, i cant." so she still put that distance. either way i hope they stay together and live a happy life, even if he turns back into a man. or i hope they find someone else that make them equally happy and they stay friends of some sort.
