big rich old guys betted a lot of money for gamestop's stocks crashing because everybody buys games online

reddit heard about this and got a plan

if they randomly dump a bunch of money into gamestop's stocks it won't crash and all the money the old rich guys betted against it will go to them

also since they will be putting in a bunch of money into the stock the overall stock value will go up and make them more money again

so they teamed up and took all the old guy's money in the name of gamestop

There’s actually a webtoon. I don’t remember the name but it’s about guy who crashes the stock market in south Korea buying video game stocks. It was something like super winner or some shit like that

But doesn’t that mean that those stocks are unstable? Bc it’s just some Reddit ppl buying them, but not a real event like uh a re-popularization of hardware games or some shit like that? The company will still crash bc it doesn’t have a real purpose no?

Yup the stocks are unstable so this is not a drastic change in GameStop's overall worth but more like a one time big "fuck you" to the hedgefunds.
