Well I think it's weird to compare these two genre. I believe smut, romance normal (hetero) story would be better comparison with yaoi bc in yaoi there is sex scenes. Where this story does not have smut, if you looking for non-sex BL stories, you need to read shounen ai. There you will find romance mostly without any sex scenes.

This is the difference between yaoi story and normal relationship ..if its yaoi always at the first chapter is already the seggs sence ..if normal relationship like thi ls maybe it will take 100 chapter and then we will see the spice
