I really think Ivan is taking all the blame to himself and not telling HEN because of something that could have happened in the past. If I remember correctly there was a part in the earlier chapters where it looked like Ivan was being chastised by his family in a church for something he had done. He probably has built this attitude of bearing all his suffering to himself. Poor Ivan, hen really wants to help you. Even though it's probably about hen, he still wants to know. ╥﹏╥
