    Solve each of the given inequalities for z. Which of the inequalities have 1 as a solution?
    Inequality 1: 2(2.9z+3.5)<30.2
    Inequality 2: 4(1.5z+1.25)_>-7.0

    Also the teacher wants me to show my work

    wow didn’t expect to be doing math on this website but i think i know the answer.

    1.) distribute what’s outside the parentheses to in (so multiply 2 by 2.9z and 3.5)

    2.) for z, substitue it with 1. try these for both equations and see if it’s true

    there’s also an app called photomath that helps you solve your problems, see if you can download it and use that! it also shows the steps i think so good luck

    question 1)
    (dived both sides of equation by 2)

    2(2.9z+3.5)/2 < 30.2/2

    (subtract 3.5 from both sides)

    2.9z + 3.5 - 3.5 < 15.1 -3.5

    2.9z<11.6

    (divide both sides by 2.9)

    2.9z/2.9 < 11.6/2.9

    z<4

    Inequality 1: z<4

    Distribute the 2 to the parenthesis -> 2*2.9z=5.8z & 2*3.5=7 -> 5.8z+7<30.2

    Then, you subtract 7 to both sides -> +7-7= 0 and 30.2-7=23.2. -> 5.8z<23.2

    Divide 5.8z to both sides -> 5.8z/5.8=z & 23.2/5.8= 4

    Final answer: z<4

    Me: oh heck no! I did not graduate just so I could worry about math problems when I’m supposed to be reading bl and memes! Fuck that!!
    Also me: sigh *puts on glasses and tries to remember how to solve problem for 5mins*
    Sorry kid! It’s not coming to me! My major has barely any math so I’ve forgot how to solve this! Try YouTube!

    Just sent you a message on mangago to a link to a google docs with a step by step of how to do question 2

    Inequality 2: z_>-2

    Distribute the 4 to the parenthesis -> 4*1.5z=6z & 4*1.25=5 -> 6z+5_> -7.0

    Subtract 5 to both sides -> +5-5=0 & -7.0-5=-12

    Divide 6 to both sides -> 6z/6=z & -12/6=-2

    Final answer: z_>-2

    Could you solve it? What was the correct answer? I’m curious ( ̄∇ ̄")

    I think I got here late but I tried doing it and I had the same result as some answers below if I’m not mistaken.

    However it’s been a long time since I graduated school that I don’t remember math well.
    The resolution was sth like this?

    2(2.9z + 3.5) < 30.2
    5.8z + 7 < 30.2
    5.8z < 30.2 -7
    Z < 23.2/5.8
    Z<4

    4(1.5z+1.25)>-7.0
    6z + 5 > -7
    6z > -7 -5
    Z > -12/6
    Z > -2

    Good luck Ace!! (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

    Lol there was this one time a while ago where I was having a mental breakdown cause all the other places where I was looking for help was no help at all so I just came here and somebody actually answered me and helped me get the right answer. In the end the only thing that helped me out of all the places I went to was Wattpad and Mangago . And the subject was about 7th grade Punnett square Word problems¯_(ツ)_/¯
