brilliant, just perfect

This really hit close to home, as i lost someone (not to death) and dream about them and being together again once more. It made me cry really hard, the kind where you can feel it in your heart.

the mangaka does a wonderful job of mixing such an intense and heavy topic such as suicide with light and fluffy moments, like torao getting used to the future, getting mad when the first hikaru model messes up, and also in the artwork, which is beautiful. Airy and bright are words that come to mind.

SPOILER

the ending i think sums the story up in a melancholy yet sweet way. hikaru, being a robot, waits hundreds of years alone for torao, but as a robot of course, has no real concept of time relative to human wants and needs and emotions. the last scene really make you cry in a happy way.
