Art is ok but there is no story. This was hentai because sex wasn't erotic. Yaoi has a thicker layer of story in them and then sex is a lot more meaningful... At least I think so.

Doesn't yaoi's meaning stem from something like "no point"? Like english PWP.

I don't know what the word means in japanese. But I guess that "no point" meaning would make sense if the first people using the name didn't find these graphic novels enjoyable. If I would have named this genre I would have used something that stems from "highly enjoyable, erotic and addictive". ;)

Is there a word for it when one is a " heavy user" of yaoi? Yaoi-otaku? :) Fudanshi/fujoshi are fans of yaoi but does it imply the amount of yaoi read? :D

Well, everyone anyway might have their own use of terms. Like sometimes I wonder if people ask "what's your favorite yaoi" does that mean all guyxguy or just the ones with sex scenes. I actually noticed someone else commenting earlier about the term "Yaoi is short for yamanashi ochinashi iminashi. It means "no climax, no point, no meaning".

    Hm I wonder, haven't heard :D

basically yaoi is gay hentai and it doesn't change the fact that that's what it really meant. nowadays, we see story-driven erotica stories that people get confused (especially the intl. fans) to its real meaning.
