Soo-Young & Tae-Seung

I think MC like Tae because even though he’s just as possessive as his Ex, Tae is seeing It from a point of “dude take care of yourself. Stop thinking you can keep fighting on, so bullheaded. As if It doesn’t matter if you get hurt.” Not in as nice of words of course LMAO, but that’s the gist of his message
His ex was more-so on the lines of: “you poor handicapped baby. Let me care for you.” Which only made MC want to break his own body down more.
From the start of this manga MC has been portrayed as fighting against this “helpless” identity since his freedom/spark was taken by his leg injury. So he’s just been like a wind up toy, bashing against the wall in defiance of that. Tae comes in and is basically trying to keep him from self-destructing (with his own twisted methods) but not doing so in a way that he’s looking down on him like his ex was doing. Does that make sense?

At least Tae doesn't beat him like his ex did.

This too, lol though I could see Tae and MC on some Zetsuai energy (another manga in this “toxic love” genre). Where he’d break MC leg forreal but in a dramatic, passionate, weird way
