he would then have been hanged alongside her....England's law back then was absolute, cos everyone liked a hanging especially so if it was a nobles, and that wouldnt be a happy ever after ending
I wish she had been taken to the execution block and he saved her there. Though the ending they gave is still really good too ^_^
