The count did it because he knew rupert wasn't fit for the throne, and overthrowing him would be the best option. and Lehan developed feelings for Larriet bc she isn't his sister and treats him with lots of love and care obliviously.

Lariette is not the real child of the count. She is actually the princess of another kingdom. Lehan is not her real brother, and knows that she's not his real sister, but Lariette doesn't know. Lehan likes Lariette, and blue haired whats her face likes Lehan and knows that he likes Lariette, and so shes jealous. So basically, Rupert killed the count's family bc he also knew Lariette was the daughter of royalty of another country. The count was planning to overthrow Rupert and put Lariette onto the throne instead, even despite the fact that she still didn't know she was a princess in her past life. Tori is a spy, which is why she died/ got killed.
